KEULE 12"ja ja, der zahn der zeit ... im falle von paul kalkbrenner ist dieser zahn aber wie gehabt ein ziemlich steiler! zwar sind die tracks auf “keule” nicht mehr ganz so zackig wie in jung-raver-zeiten, aber “brutzeln” (o-ton kalkbrenner) ganz ordentlich!
paul kalkbrenner ist keiner, der wie am fließband produziert und ständig neue platten raushaut. er ist als artist viel unterwegs, saugt eindrücken auf, bastelt teilweise monatelang an tracks herum und überrascht dann mit einem neuen sound, der trotzdem viel vom alten kalkbrenner-stil hat.

time passes by so quickly ... but what the ... in case of paul kalkbrenner the ravages of time are actually pretty exciting. the tracks on “keule” are not as snappish as in his younger raver years, but frizzle and sizzle and kick you right in the face.
paul kalkbrenner isn’t an assembly line producer who releases new records all the time. he travels and plays a lot, meets people, meets styles, works on his stuff for months and then surprises us with a new sound, that still bears the typical kalkbrenner characteristics.
