OVERVIEW INFOSHEET ARTIST INFOSHEET DEUTSCH geschmäcklerisch ist sie ja, frau allien. mit „thrills“, ihrem dritten longplayer (bpc 106) hat sie nicht nur klar gemacht, dass sich mit erwartungshaltungen die anderen zufrieden geben müssen. nein, es wird alles noch viel besser, denn nach dem hors-d' „magma“ (bpc 105), der sich vor den hauptgang „thrills“ schob, kommt nun auch noch der nachschlag zum dessert, der maxi „my body is your body“ (bpc 113). mit „down“ listet ellen allien wieder mal ungezwungen den halben globus in drei zeilen auf. mit der chilenin miss dinky hat sie sich als erste remixerin auch gleich eine verwandte seele ins haus geholt. deep und brainish (ellen liebt das!) träumen wir von den sternbildern auf dem unteren globus. wo das original noch als definitiver dancefloorkracher daher kommt, macht miss dinky klar, dass tanzen nicht nur auf dem bass geht, sondern auch auf atmosphärischem (und auf das reimt sich irgendwie episch). mit der italienischen superdancebombe drama society steckt ellen allien dann wiederum auch den konkreten beat ab. und drama society lassen nun wirklich nichts anbrennen: auch hier geht es durchaus deep und hintergründig zur sache, wo man bei dinky allerdings noch vom wind in den baumwipfeln träumte, haben wir hier eher eine schwarz-weiße kriminalfilmästhetik vor augen – denn deep meint hier wirklich tief, und das sind sie, die bässe, grummelnd und treibend. ein bisschen platz müssen wir aber noch lassen, denn das tüpfelchen auf dem i kommt aus paris und gebiert seinen eigenen hybrid. der fuckaloop-remix orientiert sich am wüsten hip hop-elektronika-massaker von ttc und zaubert aus ellens „down“ die kinovariante einer animierten dancenacht, wo in zeitlupe auch die kompliziertesten moves mit eleganz verchromt werden. INFOSHEET ENGLISH she’s got taste, that ms. allien. with “thrills”, her third long-player (bpc 106) she not only makes it clear that it’s the others who will have to live with their expectations – actually, things get better and better. following the hors d’oeuvre “magma” (bpc 105) that squeezed in before the main course “thrills”, desert is now ready to be served, with the ep “my body is your body” (bpc 113). on “down” ellen allien once again uninhibitedly lists half the globe in just three lines. miss dinky from chile delivers the first remix and is also a real kindred spirit. deep and brainy (ellen loves that!) we dream of star constellations in the southern hemisphere. while the original is a definite dance floor basher, miss dinky proves nicely that it’s not just the bass one can dance to but also atmospheric (and doesn’t that almost rhyme with epic?) grooves. with drama society, the italian super-dance-bomb, ellen allien gets back down to the beat. drama society are always in for a ride: also kind of deep and enigmatic. while dinky inspires dreams about windy willows, this track is more like a black-and-white thriller where deep really means deep. and that bass truly is deep – rumbling and hammering. but we still need to leave some space for the icing on the cake - from paris and a hybrid of its own: the fuckaloop remix turns to the mean hip hop electronic massacre by ttc and transforms ellen’s “down” into the cinematographic variation of an animated dance night where, in slow motion, even the most complicated moves are made with elegance.
